Holdenwald Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary hospital facility, providing state-of-the-art surgical procedures, an on-site laboratory, radiology department, ultrasound, and blood chemistry analysis.

We also offer 24-hour emergency care.

These first visits are especially important in getting your new pet off to a good start. Dr. Scott will perform a thorough physical examination of your new "baby", fully explain any problems he detects, and will advise you on a course of treatment if necessary. 

We will also advise you when your pet should be vaccinated in order to protect it against disease.  Our doctors and assistants will give you the latest information about diet, training, and preventative care. 

We recommend a complete physical examination for your pet on a yearly basis.  As your pet ages, a lot can change from year to year. Preventative health care recommendations are made based on examination findings and your pet’s individual needs and situation.  

We provide special attention to aging pets focusing on preventative measures and  the early detection and treatment of age related problems.  Older patients commonly experience the same problems that older humans do – heart problems, diabetes, arthritis, dental problems, hearing and vision loss, etc.  Many of these conditions can be treated to extend and improve your pet’s quality of life.

Unfortunately, we often see pets that aren’t feeling well or have been injured.  We will discuss your pet’s history, pertinent information, and observations from you that might aid us in determining the problem.

We will also perform a thorough physical exam, and perform any necessary diagnostic procedures such as X-rays, blood tests, etc. to help us determine the best course of treatment for your pet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Scott performs elective surgeries such as spays and neuters, in addition to many other surgeries including orthopedic procedures to repair dislocated hips, torn ligaments, fractured bones, etc. 

 

If a case is beyond our skill or comfort level, we will refer you to a Board Certified Specialist.

 

 

 

 

 

We place an emphasis on good dental hygiene.  Your pet’s health relies on healthy teeth and gums.  If dental surgery or teeth cleaning is necessary, we tailor your pet's anesthetic to his or her individual needs, making the procedure as safe as possible. 

Dr. Scott will do a complete oral exam and perform any necessary  extractions or surgeries.

Our on-site laboratory allows us to have rapid test results in order to obtain a diagnosis and initiate treatment as soon as possible. This can be extremely important if your pet is critically ill.

Our sophisticated Blood Chemistry equipment allows us to accurately analyze your pet's blood work to determine the most effective treatment program.

Our modern X-Ray machine is powerful enough to take excellent quality films of even extremely large dogs with minimal exposure to radiation.  Our automatic processor ensures clear, quality films. 

Within minutes, we can have your pet's X-rays taken, processed and ready for interpretation by Dr. Scott.

Ultra Sound is a non-invasive, painless procedure utilized to give us a better view of your pet's internal problems without the trauma of exploratory surgery.
